A man has been sentenced to 12 years in prison at the High Court in Edinburgh for sexually abusing women and young girls in Perth and Kinross.

Peter Buller, who's 58, carried out the offences between 1984 and 2020.

Police said he had up to 14 victims - many of whom were children at the time.

Mr Buller has also been placed on the sex offenders register and will be subject to an Order of Lifetime Restriction.

He was originally convicted at the High Court in Stirling on Thursday, 15 December, 2022 following a police investigation.

A report was made to police in July 2020 and further enquiries were carried out by officers .

Detective Constable Karen Nairn said: “Peter Buller is facing the consequences of his actions as he begins his prison term.

“The victims have been incredibly strong in coming forward and disclosing the terrible abuse they suffered. I hope knowing Buller is now behind bars offers them some solace as they move forward with their lives.

“We remain committed to supporting victims of sexual crime and protecting children from harm and abuse. We will use all available resources to find and arrest the abusers, no matter how much time has passed. I would urge anyone who is a victim of abuse to speak to police in the knowledge they will be fully supported.”
