Police appeal after death of ex-Nazareth roadie in Fife
Robert Kennedy's death is being treated as "unexplained"
The death of a 63-year-old former roadie for the rock band Nazareth is being treated as unexplained''.
Police said Robert Kennedy was found unconscious in his home at Halbeath Road, Dunfermline, on June 1st.
He was taken by ambulance to Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy, where he later died.
Police Scotland are appealing for anyone with information about his last days to get in touch.
Detective Inspector John Anderson said: At this time, we are treating Robert's death as unexplained whilst we carry out our investigations.
We are following a number of lines of inquiry to support Robert's family and supply them with as much information as possible around his death.
We know Robert was out with friends watching the Champions League Final on the Saturday night before his death - May 28 - and together they went to the East Port Bar before moving onto the City Hotel. They ended up in The Brass House during the early hours of the morning.
We also know Robert arrived back home shortly after 2am but have yet to establish how he got home.
I'm keen to speak to anyone who saw him that evening, particularly any taxi drivers in the town who possibly took him home.
I'm also keen to speak to anyone who had contact with Robert between Sunday May 29 and Wednesday June 1, when he was found in his house.''
Part of the investigation focuses on how Mr Kennedy sustained injuries to his face he was spotted with on Sunday May 1.
Police said the injuries were noticed after he had been to watch the band Honk at the Leroy Day Charity Gig at PJ Molloys in Dunfermline that evening.
The band said in a statement: It's with great sadness and a collective heavy heart that we announce the death of our dear friend and brother Rab Kennedy.
As all of you serious Nazareth fans know, Rab was a cherished and much-loved member of our road crew for almost 20 years.
He was an easygoing guy with a wonderful sense of humour who made friends all around the world as he toured with the band.
We're a family when we tour and we just lost one of our family. Our thoughts are with Robert, his dad and his sister Kathleen at this time.''
