Police car crash leaves Perth junction closed

A police car has been involved in a crash in Perth city centre.

Emergency services rushed to the junction at Princes Street and Canal Street around 2.35pm this afternoon.

The junction has been closed in both directions whilst officers investigate.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 2.35pm on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, officers attended the junction of Princes Street and Canal Street in Perth, following a collision involving a police vehicle.

“Enquiries into the full circumstances are ongoing and police remain at the scene.”

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 3.08pm on Tuesday.

“Two appliances are on the scene of a two-vehicle road traffic crash.”
