Spate of car number plate thefts at various streets in Dundee

A number of car number plates have been stolen at various streets in Dundee.

Nine incidents have been reported across the city over the last few days.

Eight of these happened overnight but officers say there may be more that they're not aware of.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We are appealing for information about a series of unusual crimes that have taken place in Dundee in the last few days.

"We would like to ask anyone who lives in these areas who have private CCTV or dashcams to check them and contact us should anything possibly useful be found.

Also, while it is obviously impossible to secure your car against this kind of theft, please be vigilant if you keep your car parked on a street or open driveway for anyone giving your car more than a passing glance."

• Muirfield Place, a Fiat 500 SB64UWK overnight 10th – 11th

• Gowrie Street, a Vauxhall Adam SR19OFD, between 9am and 5pm on Friday 11th

• Beauly Avenue, a Golf SY05XWG, overnight Fri 11th – Sat 12th
