A third of Scots say they’re too scared to drive abroad – with their biggest concerns being not understanding the language and driving on the opposite side of the road.

The research published today by breakdown service Green Flag reveals that we are more nervous of driving abroad than going for a job interview, speaking in front of more than 50 people, meeting the in-laws or missing a flight.

With over half a million Brits expected to travel the continent this summer to Euro 2016 alone Green Flag is encouraging drivers to embrace European road trips this summer to ensure they don't miss out on sights and experiences.

31% of Scottish drivers say the thought of driving abroad makes them feel very anxious.

Over half of Scots say that they speed when they drive, with 43% saying they experience road rage.

47% of Scots rely on a sat nav when driving abroad, with less than a third saying they still use traditional road maps. But over half say that they still get lost when using a sat nav.

The Scots are most savvy when it comes to currency though, with 81% saying that they learn the currency and conversion rate before going on holiday, the highest in the UK.
