Woman dies after she was struck by car in Montrose

A 78-year-old woman has died after she was hit by a car in Montrose.

The pedestrian was struck by a vehicle at a parking area near to a bus stop on Teviot Place in the Angus town.

The incident happened at around 4:35pm on Thursday, 8th February, 2024.

She later died at Ninewells Hospital in Dundee during the evening of Sunday, 11th February 2024, after she was taken there following the collision.

No one else was injured during the incident involving a black Mercedes Benz A Class.

Sergeant William Strachan of the Tayside Road Policing Unit said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the woman involved in the incident.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and we would be keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or who may have dashcam or private CCTV from the area.

“Anyone who can help is asked to call 101, quoting reference 3045 of 9 February.”
