Four special facilities are being opened in Tees Valley and North Yorkshire to provide childcare provision for designated key workers during the COVID-19 crisis.

The hubs, which are located close to key medical sites including James Cook Hospital, North Tees Hospital, Northallerton Hospital and the primary care facilities in Redcar, will be open 24/7 to cater for the shifts patterns of workers including doctors, nurses, paramedics, police and fire officers, care workers and the wider range of people classified as key workers.

They will offer funded and non-funded places for children up to the age of 11 and are fully insured and Ofsted registered with caring and professional qualified staff.

The special childcare facilities are operated by Rosedene Nurseries and are based at:

Middlesbrough - St Thomas More School, Erith Grove, Easterside, TS4 3QH

Stockton - Hardwick Community Centre, Whessoe Road, TS19 8LB

Northallerton - Mount View, Standard Way, DL6 2YD

East Cleveland - Children’s Centre, Marske Mill Lane, Saltburn TS12 1HJ

Parents who wish to access the facilities can find all the information on the website www.rosedenenurseries.co.uk.

Alice McCullagh (pictured above), director of Rosedene Nurseries, said:

We have created one key worker childcare hub in each of the local authority areas in which we operate, which can be accessed by eligible parents, regardless of where they live and if they are an existing customer or not. They all have strict hygiene procedures in place to give parents peace of mind that their child is safe and well cared for.

To enable key workers to go to work and save lives, these four childcare centres will be open twenty fours hours a day, including weekends. We know that many designated key workers are working long hours and different shifts, we will be totally flexible as we understand that during the pandemic people can’t always choose the hours that they will be needed to work.”

If we can provide children with a ‘normal’ and happy environment during these challenging times whilst relieving the worry of childcare from designated key workers, we will be happy that we are fulfilling our role.”
