Middlesbrough's West Lane Hospital forced to close CAMHS units after damning CQC report

A mental health facility in Middlesbrough, where 2 teenagers took their own lives, has been closed

The trust said it has identified a further 19 patients who have been invited to an appointment with a consultant.

Middlesbrough's West Lane hospital was forced to close after the damning report by the CQC - shortly after 2 teenage patients took their own lives.

It's after getting an Inadequate rating from the Care Quality Commission

The inspection found patients were not safe and were at high risk of avoidable harm.

A Spokesperson from the CQC said "Inspectors are working with NHS England to find appropriate care and support for the young people affected"
