A cyclist from the Isle of Wight is battling with the baking heat on a two thousand mile ride in Australia.

Ian Gregory is visiting Sydney, Canberra, Adelaide and Melbourne during the 25-day challenge.

The 48-year-old from Gunville is raising money for four island charities dubbed the Wight Unity Heroes.

The charities are Challenge and Adventure, Isle of Wight Pride, the Isle of Wight Zoo and Layla's Trust.

Ian spoke to Wave 105 from Australia saying, "the heat is incredible. We're hitting up to 38 degrees Celsius everyday. Some of the roads out here are melting."
