Natalie Dormer has announced that she's split from her fiancé Anthony Byrne after 11 years together. The couple, who met on the set of The Tudors in 2007, became engaged in 2011 after Anthony proposed to the Game of Thrones star on a romantic boat ride during a trip to India, but she has now confirmed that they split up earlier this year.

In a profile for New Statesman, Natalie confirmed the split, with the publication writing, 'The two met on the set of The Tudors; they’ve parted ways since promoting the film this summer,' referring to their joint project In Darkness, a film that was released in May this year.

It seems like the film, which the couple co-wrote together with Anthony directing and Natalie starring, was the downfall of the relationship, after both admitting that writing together was much harder than they expected.

Natalie told You magazine, "Couples say terrible things to each other that you would never say to your best friend. We learned very quickly that we couldn’t write in the same room."

Whilst Anthony told The Hollywood Reporter, "We learned quickly but we didn’t learn from our mistakes. Because we didn’t have an office or anything, we were in our own home writing, and then it would all kick off because we would disagree about something fundamentally or I would be a pain.

"It's very easy to go, 'Oh, don't worry about that, it's going to be fine,' and you have to police that and in doing so you end up being the bad guy and end up having massive arguments."

Natalie is best known for her role as Margaery Tyrell in Game Of Thrones, a role she played from 2012 to 2016, and also for starring in The Hunger Games film series as Cressida.
