New Game of Thrones Season 5 trailer unleashed - WATCH
Excitement builds ahead of its return next month
A new trailer for the fervently anticipated fifth season of Game of Thrones has premiered.
The high-octane trailer opens with Daenerys Targaryen uttering the words “Lannister, Baratheon, Stark, Tyrell, they're all just spokes on a wheel” before all hell breaks loose.
The one-and-a-half-minute teaser is packed with images of blood, fighting, gore, Tyrion in exile, John Snow looking as though he’s got the weight of the world on his shoulders, Stannis Baratheon organising his army, Jaime sword fighting, dragons and much more.
Hinting at the violence to come, later in the clip Daenerys ominously threatens, “I’m going to break the wheel.”
Alongside all the surviving favourites, the new series features a string of new characters including Doran Martell (played by Alexander Siddig), the High Sparrow (Jonathan Pryce) and Obara Sand (Keisha Castle-Hughes).
Games of Thrones season 5 hits Sky Atlantic at 9pm on Monday 13th April.
