Fast gaining a reputation as the nicest pop star on the planet, Taylor Swift has donated $15,000 (£10,000) towards a family’s medical bills following a devastating car crash.

On Saturday afternoon, Texas fireman Aaron Van Riper responded to a 911 call only to discover that the victims of the horrific collision were his wife, Amber, and son, Jonathan.

Amber and Jonathan were both airlifted to hospital where they were both treated for fractures. On Sunday Amber underwent 5 hours of surgery to repair her shattered pelvis, which is broken in five places.

To make matters worse the family does not have insurance and are now facing an ever-spiralling medical bill.

In response to the dire situation, their friends and family set up a GoFundMe page to raise money for Amber and Jonathan’s medical treatment.

On Wednesday night, a $15,000 donation was made by a certain Taylor Swift – American publication Billboard has since verified that it’s the real Taylor.

At the time of writing a total of $101,165 has been raised from 2,304 donations and, thanks in part to Taylor, the VanRipers are well on course to smash their $125,000 target.
