Big Brother host Emma Willis has responded to rumours that the reality TV show has been axed by Channel 5.

Rumours have been rife recently that the reality TV show has been axed due to falling ratings, however nothing has been confirmed.

Speaking about the series Emma said that if it is done right it is "perfect television" for her as she is a "nosy neighbour". She also said that she hopes future series will be similar to the most recent 'Women of the Year' series which was well received.

The most recent series of Celebrity Big Brother took place last month. The series saw the likes of a former politician, reality TV stars, a former detective and a DJ enter the house. Former Coronation Street actress Amanda Barrie was the oldest housemate at the age of 82, with the youngest being glamour model Jess Impiazzi who has appeared in Ex On The Beach.

The series was won by Shane Jenek AKA Courtney Act, known for appearing in RuPaul's Drag Race.

Jack Dee: 2001

Jack Dee took part in the show for Comic Relief and everyone seemed surprised, none more so than Jack. The series lasted a paltry five days as it was a more innocent time.

Shane was a firm favourite with girl group Little Mix. Early on in the series Jade Thirlwall revealed who she would be backing to win the reality TV show. Taking to the group's official Twitter account the 'Power' singer said, 'In honour of @courtneyact joining the @bbuk house and already delivering the most iconic entrance 😂♥️ I’ll be rooting for you! #ShaneToWin 🙌🏽 jade x' sic

She also shared a photo of herself with Shane, who starred in the 'Power' video alongside Jade and the other Little Mix girls, Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, and Jesy Nelson.

Jade later confused fans by encouraging them to vote to save Shane AFTER the lines closed for Celebrity Big Brother's triple eviction.

Big Brother is expected to be on TV later this year as usual and applications for the series are already being taken. More details can be found here.
