It's less than a week until the new season of Game of Thrones starts and the country is brimming with excitement.

First thing this morning the Night King was spotted on horseback travelling south from Hadrian's Wall, a location that inspired George RR Martin, the American novelist who wrote the books the TV series is based on.

As fans will know The Wall in Game of Thrones, is a 700-foot ice wall that’s defended by the Night’s Watch and stretches for 300 miles along the northern border of the Seven Kingdoms.

Further south and in London a troop of White Walkers descended on Oxford Circus, Tower Bridge and The Tower of London advancing towards Buckingham Palace’s Throne Room. Wearing specially designed prosthetics it took over eight weeks to create the full costumes, and each actor spent four hours in makeup before hitting the streets of London!

Commuters who encountered the White Walkers snapped pics and shared them on social media.

With over five million people viewing the last season, Game of Thrones fever is most definitely in full swing with fans who can't contain their excitement taking to Twitter.

Season 7 of Game of Thrones comes to Sky Atlantic and NOW TV from Monday 17 July at 9pm.
