With summer fast approaching, that can mean only one thing... the return of some of our favourite reality TV shows such as Love Island and Big Brother!

As the British weather isn't always so great, it’s likely we’ll spend most of the summer season huddled on the sofa flicking between the two reality shows, whilst eating our body weight in ice cream.

Last year, the two epic reality TV programmes went head-to-head in launch night ratings battle, with relative newbie Love Island beating Big Brother to the top spot.

Now, Big Brother show bosses reportedly want to delay the start date of this summer’s series to avoid any risk of a similar situation this year.

A source told the Daily Star, "Love Island did so well last year that there is a fear Big Brother will be lost in its shadow too much. In some ways it makes sense to launch later."

This comes as the future of Big Brother as we know and love it has become somewhat uncertain. Broadcast reports that Channel 5’s director of programming Ben Frow has said that the show will definitely not return in its “current form” and may not be back at all.

He said that they would “not be spending the same amount of money” on the show, and added “The ball is in Endemol Shine’s the production company’s court”.

Here's what every single Big Brother winner EVER is up to now:

Craig Phillips (winner of Big Brother 1 in 2000) then

Craig was the first ever winner of the series all the way back in 2000. He famously donated his entire £70,000 prize fund to his friend Joanne Harris who has Downs syndrome - to pay for her heart and lung transplant.

There has already been a big shake up to the BB format as Big Brother’s Big On The Side has seemingly been axed, and bosses are bringing back Big Brother’s Little Brother which airs before rather than after the main programme.

The original show used to be hosted by Dermot O'Leary in the Channel 4 days.

Both Love Island and Big Brother are expected to return in the coming months.
