£30,000 worth of drugs seized in Kilmarnock raid

Drugs estimated estimated to be worth more than £30,000 have been seized by police in Kilmarnock.

Officers carried out a search of a property in Robertson Place just before midday on Thursday and recovered the class B drugs, believed to be cannabis.

A 51 year old man has been arrested and charged and a full report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

The Locality Policing Inspector for the area, Jason Peter, commented

"Local residents have identified the supply and misuse of drugs as a top priority for policing in Kilmarnock. This incident demonstrates how we respond to this type of concern - with our local intelligence, priority policing and locality policing officers working together to act the information that is provided to us.

"We are committed to working with the community and our partners to tackle local issues and I would encourage anyone with concerns about crime in their community to contact their local policing team."
