Calls for RBS mobile banking vans to be made more accessible

Local MSP Jeane Freeman is calling on the bank to improve the accessibility of their van based mobile branch.

Yet more concerns are being raised ahead of RBS closing several of its branches across Ayrshire.

Local MSP Jeane Freeman is calling on the bank to improve the accessibility of their van based mobile branch so it offers an equal service to all customers.

She claims those with mobility issues are left outside the van to do their banking – in all weather.

Jeane said: “It is almost a year since I first met with RBS to raise the issue of accessibility, but so far they have failed to make any positive steps towards improving their service. Not everyone wants to, or can use either telephone or internet banking.”

The Royal Bank of Scotland says branches earmarked for closure - including Girvan, Mauchline and Cumnock – will remain open until later in the year.
