Appeal launched after car hits lorry near Kilmarnock industrial estate

The driver is being treated in hospital

Detectives are launching an appeal for information after a serious road crash on the A759 in Kilmarnock.

Around 2.45pm on Tuesday afternoon, a 38-year-old man driving a Ford Tipper truck was involved in a collision with a stationary lorry near Moorfield Industrial Estate in Gatehead.

The driver of the Ford was taken by Ambulance to Crosshouse Hospital where he is being treated for his injuries.

Hospital staff describe the Ford drivers condition as stable. The driver of the lorry was uninjured.

Sergeant Craig Beaver of the Divisional Road Policing Unit in Ayrshire said: "Our enquiries into the cause of this crash are continuing and I would appeal to anyone with information or footage that may assist our investigation to contact 101 quoting reference 1964 of 17 August."
