Drugs, cash and stolen items recovered in police raid in Catrine

A man and a woman have been arrested and charged

Two people have been charged following an early morning drugs raid in an East Ayrshire village.

Officers arrested a 38-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman after executing two search warrants in Newton Terrace in Catrine on Wednesday August 30th.

They recovered cannabis with an estimated five-figure street value, along with a four-figure sum of cash.

A van was also discovered which had recently been stolen from the Kilwinning area, along with evidence of a dismantled van which had been stolen from Fulshaw Crescent in Ayr.

Items were also recovered linked to further thefts.

The man was arrested and charged in connection with several charges, including vehicle theft, reset and drugs offences. The woman was arrested and charged in connection with drugs offences.

The pair are expected to appear at Ayr Sheriff Court on Thursday, 31 August, 2023.
