A Kilmarnock actor is taking part in a skydive this weekend in a bid to raise funds for a charity close to his heart.

Outlander star Steven Cree is doing the 15,000-foot dive from the sky and is raising money in the process for International Animal Rescue.

The East Ayrshire actor took to social media this week to thank everyone for the support as he smashed his target of £5,000.

However, now that number has been surpasses, he wants to go one better and double his initial target.

Steven said in his twitter post that it would be incredible to reach the £10,000 mark, but seeing as it’s his first ever skydive he also admitted he was s***ing himself for this Sunday’s leap.

He said: “The total is currently at £8,063, which is amazing. The target was £5,000 so that's been absolutely smashed and I'm very very grateful to everyone who has donated as is everyone at International Animal Rescue.

"It would be amazing to try get that total up even more. I would love to try get to £10,000 by Sunday but obviously anything on top of what we already have is a huge bonus.

"I've never done a sky dive in my life. I'm s***ing myself massively, although I'm sure it will be a good experience hopefully. I'm doing this all for a really great charity."
