Elderly Couple In Hospital After Arran Crash

An elderly couple are in a serious condition in hospital after crashing into a stone wall on Arran last night.They were airlifted to Crosshouse hospital.

Police Scotland is appealing for information following a serious road crash on the A841 in Arran.

Around 1750 hours on Wednesday 26 November 2014, a blue Honda Civic car crashed into a stone wall at Kingscross Bridge approximately one mile north of Whiting Bay.

The 90 year old driver and his 87 year old passenger were both taken to Arran Memorial Hospital before being airlifted to Crosshouse Hospital, where their injuries are described as serious but stable.

Sergeant Ian Thornton is leading the investigation and said: “Road Policing officers are on the scene and enquiries are continuing.

“I would ask anyone who was on the road around 1750 hours on Wednesday evening and who may have information in relation to the incident to telephone the non emergency number 101.”
