Essential maintenance planned for A71

On Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 August, the Ayrshire Roads Alliance will be carrying out essential maintenance works on the A71 which will include barrier repairs, gully clearing, grass cutting, road sweeping and litter picking.

On Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 August, the Ayrshire Roads Alliance will be carrying out essential maintenance works on the A71 which will include barrier repairs, gully clearing, grass cutting, road sweeping and litter picking. The works will be carried out between 06:00 and 15:00 from the Bellfield Interchange to Moorfield roundabout and from Moorfield roundabout to the boundary with North Ayrshire. To protect the workforce and the travelling public lane closures will be necessary while the teams are working. On Saturday 27 August, lane closures will be in place in both directions between the Moorfield roundabout and the North Ayrshire boundary. While on Sunday 28 August, lane closures will be in place in both directions between the Bellfield Interchange and Moorfield roundabout. Traffic will be able to access the A71 as normal, the lane closures and works will be signed throughout. Slight delays are expected. Local businesses will not be affected by the works. The Ayrshire Roads Alliance, on behalf of East Ayrshire Council, apologises for any inconvenience these essential works may cause.
