Firm Fined After Ayr Worker's Death

A building company has been given a £200,000 after a worker died at its Ayr depot. 37 year-old Darren Wilson was killed when seven tonnes of wood fell on him at Jewson in February 2012. The firm was found guilty of breaching the Health and Safety at Work Act at Ayr Sheriff Court. In a statement, they say "This was a most tragic accident and our first thoughts and for Mr Wilson's friends and family".
