The official handover of a brand new rescue vehicle for Castle Douglas will take place at Castle Douglas Fire Station, Oakwell Road, Castle Douglas, at 12.45pm on Saturday 22nd November 2014.

The Lord Lieutenant of Kirkcudbright and Prior of St. John Scotland, Sir Malcolm Ross, will officially hand over the vehicle to Team Leader Ken Mackenzie and other team members of the Galloway Mountain Rescue Team.

St. John Scotland part funded the cost of the vehicle which replaces our existing 14 year old ambulance.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service have agreed to garage the new vehicle at Castle Douglas Fire Station until the team can put in place a permanent arrangement in Castle Douglas.
