11-year-old knocked down before Kilwinning Christmas lights switch-on
The girl is in hospital with serious, but not life-threatening, injuries

An 11-year-old girl hass been knocked down by a car in Kilwinning.
Police were called to Lauchlan Way at around 18:55 last night, shortly before the town's Christmas lights were switched on.
The road was closed down for a short time following the incident.
The girl was taken to Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock, where staff say her injuries are serious but not life-threatening.
