Investigation launched after body discovered in supermarket car park

Police in Kilmarnock are investigating following the discovery of a body in a car near Morrisons on the town's West Langlands Street.

The discovery was made at 7:45am on Friday June 7th.

Officers are treating the death of the 63-year-old as unexplained.

The car park has since reopened.

A Police Scotland spokespersom said: "Officers are investigating the death of a 63-year-old man who was found in a car park on West Langlands Street in Kilmarnock on Friday morning.

"The death is being treated as unexplained and a post-mortem will be carried out."
