JOAN'S LEGACY: Sign our petition

We're calling for speed cameras to be installed on the A77 in Ayr after the tragic death of 59 year-old Joan Price from Troon in a car crash.

Joan's Legacy is a West FM News campaign calling for speed cameras on the A77 in Ayr.

The stretch of the busy, main road between the Whitletts Roundabout and the Bankfield Roundabout at Ayr Hospital is the only part which doesn't have cameras.

The campaign comes after the death of Joan Price, a 59 year-old woman from Troon tragically killed in a car crash on the A77 in Ayr in January 2017.

Two teenagers had been racing on the road heading up towards the Holmston Roundabout at speeds of up to 140mph.

One of them lost control and collided head on with Joan's car, killing her instantly and leaving her passenger, 40 year-old Gillian Kay from Monkton, with life changing injuries.

Joan's husband, Colin Price, says: "I am certain that the two boys wouldn't have been driving the way they were if they thought they might have been caught on camera that night.

"I am 100% sure if there were speed cameras on that road, Joan would still be here."

By signing our petition below, you would be supporting Joan's family to hopefully ensure nobody else has to go through what they did.
