Man arrested after £50,000 cocaine haul

Class A drugs worth an estimated £50,000 have been seized by police in Ayrshire.

Officers from the Ayrshire Pro Active Crime Team raided a house in Mauchline at around 8.00am on Saturday morning.

There they found a substantial quantity of class A drugs, suspected to be Cocaine.

A 23-year-old man’s been arrested for alleged supplying offences.

The man was held in police custody to appear at Court and a full report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Inspector Colin Shearer, Community Policing Inspector for the area, said: “the supply of controlled drugs and concerns regarding drug misuse continue to be one of the main concerns raised by members of the community in East Ayrshire.

“Police executing warrants to search properties and recovering controlled drugs is only made possible with the continued support of the community.

“I would urge anyone with information regarding the sale or supply of drugs to contact their local policing team by calling 101 or to speak with your local community police officer. Alternatively information can be provided anonymously via Crimestoppers.
