Man dies after his car crashes into a house in New Cumnock

A 37 year-old man has died after his car left the road and crashed into a house in New Cumnock.

A 37 year-old man has died after his car left the road and crashed into a house in New Cumnock.

The man was driving his Toyota Corolla on the B741 Burnside at around 5:45 this morning when it appears he lost control of the vehicle and struck the wall of a house.

Emergency services attended, however the driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene.

No one within the house was injured.

Sergeant Cat Gibbons of the Divisional Road Policing Unit based at Irvine said: “At this time police enquiries are continuing into the cause of the crash. I would appeal to anyone who witnessed the crash take place, or who was driving on the road around the time of the crash to come forward as they may have information that will assist out investigation.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact the Divisional Road Policing at Irvine through 101 quoting reference number 0520 of 8th June.”

A full report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
