A teenager has appeared in court charged with attempting to murder a man in Kilmarnock.
Reece McIlvanney, 17, allegedly tried to kill the victim near the town's Onthank primary school and Tourhill Road.
McIlvanney made no plea nor declaration at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court and was freed on bail for further investigation.
The 32-year-old man, who has not been named, was taken to Crosshouse Hospital then transferred to Glasgow's Southern General after the alleged attack on November 15.
