Jax Jones joined Fleur, James and Matt on Hits Breakfast where he talked about singing on one of his songs for the first time, making music with his daughter and having Royal fans.

The 35-year-old is known for his array of hits including 'Whistle' with Calum Scott, 'Where Did You Go?' with MNEK and 'This Is Real' with Ella Henderson. However, on his latest single 'Me and My Guitar' featuring Fireboy DML, Jax also sings on the track.

Opening up about the song, Jax said: "I've put out this new song, 'Me and My Guitar'. It's a little different from me because I'm singing on the song this time around.

"A common misconception of DJs is that you just put headphones on and push the buttons. With what I do, it all starts with the song, so I'm sitting in the studio writing songs and singing. I've been writing songs since I was 13.

"So yeah, these felt very natural in my creative journey, I just like to do something different, keep myself excited. Especially with this song, because it's a bit more personal. It's about being a young artist and having dreams, which a lot of creatives and people listening can relate to.

"You know what it's like, not everyone believes in you. So it's about that. It did feel like I need to communicate this myself."

Jax is a proud dad to his two daughters - Lawana and Ariyah. He also revealed that his eldest daughter, two-year-old Lawana, also has a love for music, with the pair enjoying making songs together.

He said: "She comes into the studio and wants to make beats and we sample her favourite TV shows and we chop them up, then she puts beat drums to them and stuff like that. And we're like eating Rice Krispies and making beats in the morning."

Following his performance at the Platinum Jubilee party last year, Jax got the chance to meet Prince William - who told him that his children are fans of Jax's music!

Speaking about his Royal fans, Jax said: "When I was at the Platinum Jubilee last year, Prince William was like, 'oh my kids love your music.' That was a very surreal moment.

"They sent me a letter for the work I did on the Shaping Us campaign, which is the Princess' campaign and that was really nice, I framed it. Now, becoming a dad and being involved in things like that, putting out music that has a bit more of a narrative to it, it’s all coming together for me."
