Who is Joel Corry?
Joel Corry is a world-renowned DJ, who first caught our eyes (and ears) back in 2019 when he released the huge hit 'Sorry'. Before being a DJ, Joel appeared on Geordie Shore until 2013, alongside his then-girlfriend Sophie Kasaei. Since leaving Geordie Shore, Joel set up his own personal training business, with an app called Joel Corry PT.
He also released a number of songs dating back to 2015, with his 2020 track 'Head & Heart' ft. MNEK being his biggest single to date.

Joel Corry is 34-years-old and his birthday is 10th June 1989.
Joel Corry's track 'Sorry'
'Sorry' was released in April 2019, it later became a massive hit when it was featured on Love Island. The song eventually became a Top 10 hit after becoming the 'most Shazamed track in one day, with 41,000 Shazams'.
Although 'Sorry' was a massive hit for Joel, it was originally released 20 years ago under the name 'Sorry (I Didn't Know)', by Monsta Boy. What are the lyrics to his song 'Sorry'?
Joel Corry's song 'Sorry' starts off with the lyrics:
'I can't live without you / I know I did you wrong, I know I did you wrong / And it's my fault, I'm sorry / I can see my whole world changing 'cause of you'
The song also features a recurring chorus:

Joel Corry's track 'Lonely'
Joel Corry's second song was called 'Lonely'. The DJ's song was released on Friday 24th January 2020 and is very popular with fans who have called in an 'absolute banger' saying he's 'smashed it'.
On 20th March 2020 'Lonely' was certified Silver in the UK, that was followed by being certified Gold in May 2020. The song has also peaked at Number 4 in the UK chart.
In October 2023, Joel revealed that 'Lonely' was a very important song to him. He said he didn't want 'Sorry' to be a one-hit wonder, so he already had 'Lonely' ready to go.
Joel Corry and MNEK's collab 'Head & Heart'
Joel Corry's collab with MNEK 'Head & Heart' marked the first time the pair worked together. Joel teased his song on his socials saying, 'But my heart goes... 🧠❤️ Head & Heart is out Friday @MNEK 🕺'.
Joel shared a video of MNEK singing to the tune of their song, with the lyrics around Jason Derulo being at Number 1, it's pretty catchy.
'Head & Heart' later hit the Number 1 spot in the UK, and after tweeting his excitement over the matter, Joel Corry's ex-girlfriend Sophie Kasaei also congratulated him saying: 'Woohooo yes Joel!!! We all so proud of you! Hard work always pays off 👏🏽👏🏽'.
The song was certified Platinum in the UK, with Joel celebrating the success on Instagram. Telling his fans: 'Head & Heart is Certified Platinum 🧠❤️💿 Buzzing for my bro @MNEK love to see you shining! I’m happy this song is bringing you guys positive vibes 🙏.' (sic) It has now been certified 4x Platinum.
Despite having a Number 1 single, Joel Corry revealed that he WON'T be splashing out on flash cars or mansions saying: "I don’t like spending that much money. I did get a coffee machine recently. It had that thing that frothed the milk up and everything. I went all-in on the coffee machine!"
Celebrating the song's birthday on 4th July 2021, Joel took to Instagram to celebrate, writing: 'Happy Birthday Head & Heart 🧠💙🎈You will always hold a huge place in my heart! So happy to share it with my amazing friend @MNEK 1 billion global streams WOW thank you 🌎P.S. COME ON ENGLAND 🏴'.
Does Joel Corry have an album?
Yes! Joel has now released his debut album 'Another Friday Night'. The tracklist includes his old bangers and some brand new tunes too.
Although this is his first album, he has released an EP called 'Four for the Floor' in 2021, which included 'Head & Heart' and 'Lonely'.
Does he have a song with Becky Hill?
Yes! Joel and Becky teased their collab for quite a while, and it finally arrived on Friday 5th August 2022. It was a song called 'History', and was very popular with fans.
Way back in November 2021, Joel Cory joined us at Hits Live Liverpool and got chatting about working with Becky Hill. He told us: "I feel so lucky right now that I'm able to work with these amazing talented artists and I'm just having the time of my life back in the studio and listen, Becky Hill, first of all, the queen of dance music. Finally, we got this year together. I don't know why it took this long. But it was worth the wait."
Does Joel have a song with Mabel?
In 2021, Joel and Mabel teamed up to collaborate on the track 'I Wish'!
Speaking about the collab, Joel said Mabel had been on his collaboration 'wishlist' for years - and the music video is even inspired by Netflix's Squid Game!
At Hits Live Liverpool both Joel and Mabel performed and Joel got chatting to us about the 'I Wish' music video and his newly blond hair: "Got the new single out 'I Wish' with Mabel and I was like 'Right, I've gotta do something for this music video'. It was such a fun day shooting it, and I hope everyone enjoys it. I hope everyone enjoys the new hair as well."
Is he friends with David Guetta?
DJ's Joel Corry and David Guetta are friends, and worked together with RAYE on their song 'BED' which came out in February 2021. Joel also revealed to us at Hits Live Liverpool that David Guetta even talked about asking out his mum!
The pair worked together a second time with singer Bryson Tiller on a song called 'What Would You Do?', the song was released on 18th March 2022.
Have Joel Corry and Tom Grennan worked together?
While at Hits Live Liverpool in 2021, Joel Corry talked about his friendship with Tom Grennan and didn't rule out the possibility of a collab! Thankfully for all of us, the pair pulled through.
At Hits Live, Joel talked about being in the studio with Tom and said: "Me and Tom get on so well and you know he came down for the day and yeah, we had a wicked day together and let's see what happens man."
Then in September 2022, Joel gave the first official hint that there could be a collab on the horizon posting a pic of the pair captioning it: 'LINK UP @Tom.Grennan 🦁❤️'.
Thankfully the hints led to the pair announcing a new song called 'Lionheart (Fearless)'! The song and music video were then released in October 2022, and you can hear it on Hits Radio.
Will he collaborate with Jess Glynne?
At the moment we don't know if Joel and Jess are doing a collab, but they met up with Joel sharing a photo of the pair saying: 'Lovely day with the legend Jess Glynne'.
Neither Joel or Jess have confirmed they are working on a collab, however the fans are very excited at the prospect commenting, 'An upcoming collaboration I hope... both incredible talents', and another saying, 'Omg please Collab!' (sic)
Who are Joel Corry's celebrity idols?
While chatting to Jordan-Lee at Hits Live Liverpool, Joel revealed that he was a big Ed Sheeran fan, and was thrilled that he got to meet him at the 2021 MTV EMAs. Joel described Ed as "a lovely guy" and that "it was so great to meet him", and shared that he would try and chat to him again after his Hits Live Liverpool performance.
Joel also revealed that he has gotten to know Olly Alexander from Years & Years more recently and spent time with him while at the MTV EMAs: "We had such a great night. I love Olly so much. He's such a laugh."
Did Joel Corry remix 'Hold Me Closer'?
Elton John and Britney Spears worked together on the hit track 'Hold Me Closer', releasing it in August 2022. Joel Corry gave the tune a dance remix, with Elton's approval, and released the new version of the track on 7th October 2022.
Before the track dropped, Joel gave fans at his Ibiza show a sneak preview and shared the video on Instagram.
In the caption, he praised Elton, writing: 'Was unreal to have a phone call from Sir Elton & appreciate the kind words. Look forward to meeting up soon! Thanks for the opportunity'.

Has he won any BRIT Awards?
Joel has bagged himself multiple BRIT Award nominations over the years! In 2021, he was nominated for Breakthrough Artist, Best British Male AND Best British Single at The BRIT Awards 2021, following the release of his hit track 'Head & Heart' with MNEK.
On top of that, he went on to bag himself a nomination for Best Dance Act and Song of the Year, for 'BED' ft. David Guetta and RAYE, at The BRIT Awards 2022. Sadly, Joel didn't take any of the awards home, with Adele winning Song of the Year and Becky Hill winning best dance act.
In December 2023, he was given a BRIT Billion Award for achieving a billion UK streams. 👏
What did he do during lockdown?
Joel Corry did some 'gardening' during the lockdown - telling us in an interview that he's mowed the lawn! Not quite the definition of gardening we were thinking of.
Joel also did some mixing in his front room and streamed it on Instagram Live for his fans to enjoy. And it seems that Joel has a lot of fans in Germany too.
A video shared of a car rave in Germany showed the festival DJ playing out 'Lonely'. All the festival-goers were loving the tune by honking their car horns! Just listen to it below.
His workout routine
Now you've probably noticed that Joel likes to keep his body RIPPED and is a regular at the gym. However, you might be shocked to find out that he works out to his own tracks!
He told his followers during Instagram Live: "I actually like listening to music that I’m working on when I’m in the gym because when you listen to it in the studio, it’s almost like you’re thinking about it too much.
"When you listen to it in other environments, you actually hear what needs to be changed or tweaked."
He added: "The car’s a good one. The windows have to go down, the volume goes up. I annoy everyone."

In an interview with us at Hits Live, Joel told us about his incredible Summer touring the world in places like Ibiza, Malia, Magaluf and Zante.
He said, "It's honestly been the most incredible Summer, I've been DJing in resorts like Zante, Malia, Managua, Ibiza, and it's been such a buzz because the tune has been massive out there. There's been loads of highlights over the Summer really, Ibiza is amazing, it's my favourite place in the world, so to watch it go off over the has just been incredible."
2020: Joel Corry releases 'Lonely'
'Lonely' was released on 24th January 2020 and it has been very successful for Joel.
'Lonely' reached Number 4 in the UK charts, the single has also been certified Gold in the UK moving 400,000 units!
It has also had more than 10 million views on YouTube since it was released in January 2020.

During the lockdown we've all had to practice social-distancing, however in Germany they held a car rave for those who were missing a night out. Here Joel's song 'Lonely' got the crowd going.

Working with Caity on this record has been so much fun, she's really talented and I love her energy. The track feels super fresh and it really shows off Caity's personality. 2023: '0800 Heaven' with Nathan Dawe and Ella Henderson
Joel Corry, Nathan Dawe and Ella Henderson released their banger '0800 Heaven' back in June 2023, followed by an acoustic version a month later. The trio's song was written by Nathan and Ella, with Ella telling us: "This has happened very, very fast. The next thing you know he's (Nathan) sent it to Joel, Joel rings me and he's like, 'I want to come on it, we've got to do it together', and then, here we are, it's happening! So, we're absolutely buzzing.
"It is a really fun record," she continued.

Joel Corry received a BRIT Billion Award for a billion UK streams. The DJ told his fans in a video: "I wanted to say a massive thank you to the BRITs for this BRIT Billion Award, one billion streams in the UK... that is absolutely incredible.

Who is Joel Corry's sister?
Aimee Corry is Joel Corry's sister, the drama student appeared in Joel's music video for 'Lonely' and the DJ said he was very proud of his younger sister. Back in 2015, Aimee studied at the University of Exeter where she gained interest in nutrition, along with her love for lifting weights.
After finishing university, Aimee became a qualified personal trainer and studied a science foundation course at Birkbeck University.

His Zante residency
Joel had a residency at Rescue Club Zante, called Joel Corry Presents, for a number of years. At Hits Live Joel told us a funny story about a time in Zante when he was walking down the road.
A couple of girls recognised him and they started singing 'Sorry', "Suddenly all these people walking past stopped and all joined in," he told us.
"I had this huge, big gathering of people just belting out 'Sorry' in the middle of Zante!"
Joel went on to admit he was really enjoying it and got into it! Sounds surreal.
Did Joel have a radio show?
Joel had a show on KISS, where you could catch him dropping straight club BANGERS, every Saturday 9pm on KISS Nights. He began the show back in 2018, however in February 2022 announced that he would be departing from the radio station, with his last show being on Saturday 26th February.
He took to Twitter to write: 'Thank you for everything @KISSFMUK This Saturday will be my final show on KISS. When I joined KISS 4 years ago it was a pivotal moment in my life. It started the ball rolling for me in the music industry. I always had a dream of being on national radio & KISS made that happen.'

Speaking about his time on Geordie Shore the 'Head & Heart' DJ told heat: "Geordie Shore was an amazing part of my life. I have the best memories, and will always be grateful for the experience."
Is Sophie from Geordie Shore still with Joel we hear you ask? Sadly, no. The pair's romance has been described as coming to an 'abrupt' end in September 2017.
