Ever since he dropped his debut album 'Lighting Matches' way back in 2018, singer-songwriter Tom Grennan has released hit after hit, so we were delighted to have him perform at BOTH Hits Live Liverpool and Hits Live Birmingham.

Taking to the stage, Tom was on the epic line-up alongside Ed Sheeran, The Script, Mimi Webb, Mabel, Becky Hill, Joel Corry, and Ella Henderson in Liverpool, and Anne-Marie, Rag’n’Bone Man, James Arthur, Becky Hill, Dermot Kennedy, Years & Years, KSI and The Wanted in Birmingham.

The 26-year-old, who collaborated with the one and only Calvin Harris earlier this year, chatted to Tom Green backstage, revealing how he went on a night out with Ed Sheeran! Tom Grennan joined us at both Hits Live Liverpool AND Hits Live Birmingham, and it was after the Liverpool gig that he met up with the 'Beautiful People' singer.

"I met Ed behind stage and we'd been emailing before Liverpool," Tom explained. "We were hanging out backstage and then he was like, 'Should we go out?' And we did.

"Everybody came as well, like Mimi Webb came, Danny from The Script came. It was a good group of people in there and it was tame, man. But it was good to just - I don't know, pick the brains of Ed Sheeran."

Tom went on to reveal: "It is life. It’s crazy. I was asking him all questions about like Eminem and 50 cent. Honestly, he's the nicest guy and that's why he's the biggest artist in the world."

Tom also revealed how he'd be spending Christmas this year, telling Tom Green: "I've got my parents coming to my house. It’s just going to be lovely to be with them. I haven't seen them in proper long."

However, he admitted that one Christmas he got in trouble when he didn't come back from a night out until 10am on the big day. Oh Tom!

This year’s Hits Live had an AMAZING line-up with both shows selling out. Next year Hits Live will have THREE incredible shows, we are in Liverpool on the 20th May 2022, Manchester on the 11th November 2022 and Birmingham on the 12th November 2022.

Before breaking into the world of music, Tom was a talented footballer playing for a number of professional clubs, something he showed during Soccer Aid 2021 earlier this year, where he played for the Rest of the World in the charity game against England.

"I played a blinder" Tom said. "It was up there with one of the best things I've ever done. Not only that, the amount of money that was raised, that’s the reason why we did it and it was just amazing. Got to play. Got to live my boyhood dream for a few days."

Despite his talent in the sport, it seems Tom was always destined for stardom with his incredible vocals.

As well as teaming up with Scottish DJ Calvin Harris in the Summer, for the hit single 'By Your Side', Tom released his second studio album in March, which featured tracks 'Little Bit Of Love', 'This Is The Place' and 'Let's Go Home Together' featuring Ella Henderson.

Showing off his incredible vocals and songwriting ability once again, Tom released his latest single 'Don't Break The Heart' in September.
