Hits Radio's Sam Thompson announced for I'm A Celeb

With I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! starting this Sunday 19th November, we have some very exciting news here at Hits Radio, as our very own presenter Sam Thompson will be heading into the jungle!

We're just days away from the launch show, where hosts Ant and Dec will be heading back to the Australian jungle with a whole new group of celebs hoping to become the new King or Queen of the Jungle.

How did Sam announce he would be on I'm A Celeb?

It was announced on the Hits Radio Breakfast Show with Fleur East, James and Matt, that Sam would be heading into the jungle, along with several other celebs.

Chatting to the Fleur, Sam said: "Its going to be so fun “

Sam also took to Instagram to share the exciting news, telling his followers: '✨The rumours were true ✨ I'm thrilled to announce that I'll be joining the adventure of a lifetime on #ImACeleb 🐍🕷️Tune into @itv every night from Sunday 19th November to see how I get on… wish me luck! 😱🇦🇺'. (sic)

And it sounds like Sam's girlfriend Zara McDermott is super proud, with her writing on Instagram: 'HES GONE DOWN UNDER !!! 🦘🇦🇺🌏 the rumours were true, I am so proud of you and so excited for you and for this adventure. I cannot wait to watch you every single night and be supporting you every step of the way. ❤️ p.s. can we all please vote for Sam to do one of the eating challenges?? I think it would make great entertainment considering how squeamish he is 😂😅'. (sic)

Before going into the jungle, Sam told ITV that when he was asked it was an 'absolute resounding yes' and he didn't even need to be asked. Good luck Sam!

After months of speculation, ITV/STV bosses confirmed the full line-up on Monday 13th November.

I'm A Celeb begins on ITV1/STV1 on Sunday 19th November.

When is Sam normally on Hits Radio?

You can normally catch Sam on Hits Radio between Monday and Thursday from 7pm, and also on Sundays, counting down the chart from 4pm. While Sam is in the jungle Owen Warner is taking over during the week, and Fleur East is filling in on Sundays.
