It's safe to say dramas are one of the biggest genres on streaming platform Netflix, with shows like You, The Night Agent, and The Crown breaking viewing records over the years.

And just weeks after the majority of the nation were left on hooked on Harlan Coben's latest drama Fool Me Once, featuring Michelle Keegan, Richard Armitage, and Joanna Lumley, Netflix only went and released a brand new drama called One Day, which is also based on a best-selling novel!

What is One Day?

Introducing One Day, a brand new 14-part limited drama series based on the 2009 best-selling novel of the same name by author David Nicholls.

Netflix say of the series: 'One Day tells the story of Emma Morley and Dexter Mayhew who, on 15th July 1988, the night of their graduation, speak for the very first time. The next morning, they go their separate ways but where will they be on this one ordinary day the next year, and the year after that, and every year that follows?

'Each episode finds Dex and Em, one year older, on this one particular date, as they grow and change, move together and apart, experience joy and heartbreak. One Day is a decades-spanning love story, based on the worldwide bestseller by David Nicholls'.

When is it out?

One Day landed on Netflix on Thursday 8th February 2024, and already fans have been binging all 14 episodes in one day!

Taking to social media to express their love for the series, one fan wrote: 'Best thing I’ve watched in a long time ❤️', with another adding: 'I stayed up to watch it all, absolutely loved it'. (sic)

Another commented: 'Omg! What a beautiful and romantic series! Both actors nailed it and it is probably one of the best shows I’ve seen in a very long time. Keep a box of tissues especially towards the end. A absolute must watch'. (sic)

A fourth then wrote: 'Never cried so much. Best show. Well done to all involved. I was invested. I might rewatch it again ❤'. (sic)
