New Order have taken to social media to tease an announcement that’s happening next Tuesday (8th September).

Last night, the Manchester music legends posted a cryptic photo of a murmuration of starlings emblazoned with the date 08 09 20.

It’s currently unclear whether the announcement will be for a new studio album, a new song, more tour dates, a reissue of some sort, or even a festival performance.

New Order have one solitary UK concert lined up at London’s The O2 on Saturday 6th November 2021. The band’s only UK show of next year was rescheduled from October 2020 because of the coronavirus pandemic.

New Order played a series of European dates last summer including headline slots at The Amphitheatre on Bristol Harbourside , Bluedot Festival at Jodrell Bank in Macclesfield and Victorious Festival in Portsmouth.

The band’s tenth studio album ‘Music Complete’ topped the UK album chart when it was released in September 2015. It featured guest slots from The Killers’ Brandon Flowers on ‘Superheated’, Iggy Pop (‘Stray Dog’) and La Roux’s Elly Jackson (‘Tutti Frutti’ and ‘People on the High Line’).

On 2nd October, New Order will be releasing a definitive collection of their 1983 studio album ‘Power, Corruption & Lies’. The collection features the album remastered for the first time from the original analogue tape masters on LP and CD.
