Celtic have completed the signing of Rapid Vienna winger Nicolas Kuhn on a five-and-a-half year deal.

The 24-year old becomes Brendan Rodgers' first signing of the January window.

Kuhn spent his youth career at RB Leipzig and Ajax before making the move to Bayern Munich.

He made several appearances for the German giants' reserve team in the third tier and spent a season out on loan at Erzgebirge Aue.

Rapid Vienna came calling in 2022 and he has become a regular in the Austrian top flight.

The winger has scored seven goals and racked up ten assists in his 18 months at the club.

Manager Brendan Rodgers told the club's official website:“We are delighted to welcome Nicolas to Celtic. We believe he is a dynamic player who has an excellent level of quality and all the attributes to fit well into our style of play.

“He has the profile we are looking for, he has a real attacking intent, a player with great pace and ideas, the ability to create and score goals and a player with a great energy and work ethic.

“He is someone who can play wide on both sides so he brings with him that versatility for us too, and myself and the coaches here really look forward to working with him.”

Rodgers has stressed his desire to bring in "quality" this window, but has also revealed he needs to streamline his squad.

Midfielder Yosuke Ideguchi completed a permanent move to Japanese side Vissel Kobe earlier this month.
