Celebrities and fans send support to Ant McPartlin as he enters rehab

The presenter will embark on a two-month stint

At the weekend news broke that much loved Geordie presenter Ant McPartlin would be checking into rehab. Ant will embark on a strict two-month stint to battle addictions that are believed to have arisen following the pain he was suffering in his knee after an operation.

Following the shock news, Ant's presenting buddy Dec sent a message from their official Twitter account saying, 'Thank you for all the kind messages and well wishes for the big fella. He will be touched. Your support is, as ever, much appreciated. DD xx'.

Ant's wife Lisa Armstrong also tweeted her thanks saying, 'Completely overwhelmed by all your love & support it means so much. I'm relieved he's receiving the help he needs, we just need him better'.

Celebrities and fans had been tweeting their well wishes. British actor/director/screenwriter, Noel Clarke, wrote to Ant that he was loved and said 'Keep ya chin up Pal' (sic).

Former Britain's Got Talent judge, Piers Morgan, tweeted there are 'few nicer people in show business than Ant McPartlin'.

Lord Alan Sugar tweeted, 'Very brave Ant to go public. This is the first stage of the road to recovery. All the best Ant it, will all be sorted for sure @antanddec'.

Former Britain's Got Talent winner, George Sampson, tweeted that Ant's 'bravery is immense' adding 'you'll smash through this and be back to yourself in no time'.

And athlete Dame Kelly Holmes said, "As I say at every speech I do,we are all human! Best wishes to Ant @antanddec You will come back stronger, your fans love you #itsgoodtotalk".
