Emmerdale actress Lucy Pargeter and her fiancé Rudy Coleno announced they were expecting twins last year and now the couple have revealed the sex of their unborn children.

Lucy, who is best known for her role as Chas Dingle in Emmerdale, is set to give birth to two little girls in April.

Speaking about the news, Lucy told OK! magazine, “We found out at the five month scan just before Christmas, and we’re just over the moon that they’re both healthy, it was the best Christmas present! It’s two girls!”

The actress also opened up about her birth plan. She revealed, “We’ve talked about a C-section and a natural birth. With twins, you often have one naturally and one can end up being a C-section.”

She then added, “The recovery time with a C-section is difficult afterwards, but a natural birth can be horrendous too, so I’ll see how it goes."

Lucy announced her pregnancy late October and later revealed to fans the struggles she went through to conceive after being given just a 20% chance.

The 39-year-old explained in an interview that she had been trying to extend her family with her fiancé Rudi for 11 years, after the birth of their daughter Lola.

Lucy fell pregnant quickly with Lola so she didn't think infertility would be an issue but as she got older the couple chose to go through with IVF.

The actress was given a 20% chance of conceiving, but she was lucky enough to fall pregnant with twins after their second time trying IVF.

The soap star was inundated with congratulatory messages from fans when she revealed the news she was expecting back in October.
