Lady Gaga's emotional Instagram addresses 'split' with fiancé
The singer is taking a break from her fiancé
Lady Gaga has addressed reports she has split from her fiancé Taylor Kinney in an emotional post on Instagram.
After it was reported the 'Born This Way' singer had gone her separate ways from Taylor after five years together, Lady Gaga took to Instagram to clear things up.
Sharing a black and white shot of the pair locking arms, the 30-year-old wrote ‘Taylor and I have always believed we are soulmates. Just like all couples we have ups and downs, and we have been taking a break. We are both ambitious artists, hoping to work through long-distance and complicated schedules to continue the simple love we have always shared. Please root on us. We're just like everybody else and we really love each other’.
The pair first met on the set of Gaga's 'You and I' video and got engaged on Valentine’s Day in 2015 when Taylor popped the question.
Rumours have been circulating of a split in recent weeks after the pair hadn't been pictured together and Gaga was spotted not wearing her stunning engagement ring during a trip to Malibu last week.
According to insiders the split happened after they struggled to deal with their long distance relationship which sees both parties have extremely busy work schedules.
The 30-year-old did however speak out about how the pair kept the romance 'alive' during an interview last year. She said "We don't have any rules about calling each other at certain times, we'll go days at a time without talking and then we'll talk every day. He's on his journey and I'm on mine and we're gypsies. And then when we're together, we're really in love and that's it."
As Gaga urges her fans to 'root on us' it seems this romance may not be over forever.
