Sir Ben Ainslie welcomes baby girl with wife Georgie and reveals unusual name
The couple announce their happy news
Olympic sailor Sir Ben Ainslie and his wife Georgie have welcomed their first child, a baby girl called Bellatrix.
News of the new arrival was announced by Ben’s sponsor, Land Rover BAR, when they tweeted an adorable family photo with the new born.
The 39-year-old then retweeted the snap with the caption #proudestday.
Proud mum Georgie also shared the news when she wrote ‘Our little star has arrived. Here she is with very proud Mummy and Daddy… Bellatrix Ainslie’.
Ben and Georgie started dating back in 2013 after being introduced by mutual friends and later married in a traditional ceremony at Hampton Court Palace in 2014.
The pair then announced they were expecting their first child back in March when Ben said “I could not have asked for a better start to what promises to be a hugely enjoyable year. My wife and I are expecting our first child this summer. It is a big moment for us both and we could not be happier.”
Earlier this month, Georgia was pictured attending Wimbledon heavily pregnant with her husband by her side.
