Will it be a Spice World sequel?

The Spice Girls are reportedly working on a brand new film, 22 years after the release of Spice World. Geri Horner (née Halliwell), Emma Bunton, Mel B, Mel C and Victoria Beckham all starred in the 1997 original - and if new reports are anything to go by, all five of them will be working on the new film too.

Despite the fact that Victoria AKA Posh Spice isn't taking part in the current UK reunion tour, she's reportedly working with the other four on the film, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The publication reports that Paramount Animation president Mireille Soria is in 'early development' on a Spice Girls film, which could mean that the film is either full animated or partly animated.

If true, it wouldn't be the Spice Girls' first foray into animation - remember the music video for the heartbreaking 'Viva Forever'? It turned out to be the last music video Geri was in for the band!

Victoria's the only member WITHOUT a solo number 1

Out of Your Mind - her collaboration with True Steppers and Dane Bowers - was pipped to the post by Spiller's Groovejet (If This Ain't Love) back in August 2000. Oh, how we miss those big chart battles.

The publication also reports that Simon Fuller, the band's manager, is on board with the project and is acting as producer, with the screenplay being written by Karen McCullah and Kiwi Smith.

Soria revealed to the Hollywood Reporter that the idea for the film had actually come from the Spice Girls themselves, saying that they'd "had an idea that we've been developing" and that they "are all very involved."

Exciting stuff!
