Reading & Leeds Festival announces first bands for 2017

Muse, Major Lazer and Bastille have been confirmed in the first line-up announcement for Reading & Leeds Festival 2017.

Major Lazer, the US electronic trio behind hits such as 'Lean On' with DJ Snake featuring MØ and 'Cold Water' (featuring Justin Bieber and MØ) will be at the dual hosted event along with Brit Award winners Bastille and Muse.

Muse's headline set will be a UK Festival exclusive and their third headline slot at Reading & Leeds following their 2006 and 2011 performances.

The band said, "We’re very excited to be playing Reading and Leeds again. More news about our plans for 2017 coming in the new year."

Reading & Leeds' Melvin Benn added, “I’m thrilled to be able to announce Muse as the first headliner for Reading and Leeds 2017. Their incredible live show promises to be an unforgettable performance - we have so much more to announce and I can’t wait to reveal the rest of the line up.”
