Iconic EastEnders character set to RETURN to the soap

It's her third time in 25 years!

EastEnders fans are set for a treat later this year, after it has emerged that iconic character Bianca Jackson will return to Albert Square. The character famously played by Patsy Palmer between 1993 – 1999, and 2008 – 2014, will see Patsy reprise her role for a third time.

According to the BBC, the infamous character will return to our TV screens later this year for a short stint, executive producer of EastEnders, Jon Sen said, "When I joined the show in January, bringing Bianca Jackson back to the Square was high on my wish list."

He went on, "I'm thrilled to announce that Patsy's agreed to return to reprise her iconic creation in a blistering storyline that will grip fans this autumn. There is no-one more excited than me to see her step back into Albert Square again. I simply cannot wait."

Patsy, who is now 46, originally joined EastEnders 25 years ago. During her first stint on the show, Bianca's wedding to Ricky Butcher, in 1997, attracted one of the biggest audiences for a soap ever - 22 million viewers!

Patsy has also been nominated for many awards while previously on the show, including British Soap Award nominations, and a National Television Award. Patsy also won a British Soap Award in 2000 for Best Actress.

Although Patsy will return soon to the EastEnders set to start filming, an on-screen date has yet to be confirmed, but it will be later this year.

EastEnders airs on Mondays and Fridays at 8pm, and Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One.
