Just when we thought the Beast from the East had moved on and we were praying for some warmer weather, snow returned for certain parts of the country today, causing yet more disruption.

And it looks like the bad weather isn't just causing havoc on the roads and with schools, it's also having an effect on some of our favourite soaps' filming schedules..

After snow covered the Hollyoaks set in Chester, bosses were forced to abandon outdoor filming for the day. And it's not because all of the actors are divas and won't work in the bad weather, it's so when the scenes air later in the year, viewers won't see snow in Summer!

Makes sense!

Anna Passey, who plays the role of Sienna Blake in Hollyoaks, shared a snap of a very snowy looking set to her Instagram page. She wrote, 'GOODMORNING from a very snowy @hollyoaksofficial'. sic

And it wasn't just Hollyoaks that were forced to abandon their outdoor filming for the day.

The cast of Emmerdale have also been tweeting their snowy snaps, including Nick Miles (Jimmy King), Nicola Wheeler (Nicola King) and Michelle Hardwick (Vanessa Woodfield).

As soaps film scenes weeks in advance, Nick Miles joked that the Easter scenes in Emmerdale are going to look more like Christmas time. He wrote, 'Our Easter scenes are going to look so, um, festive?' sic

Michelle then shared a photo of a very wintry scene, she wrote, 'Are you actually kidding me??? 😩❄️ #pestfromthewest'. sic
