The Coca-Cola Thank You Fund is back!

BAFTA-winning actor Barry Keoghan returned to launch the initiative, encouraging non-profit community groups empowering young people through programmes of learning, inclusion, and sustainable development to apply for funding.

Operated in partnership with YouthAction Northern Ireland and the Irish Youth Foundation, The Coca-Cola Company and its partner Coca-Cola HBC Ireland and Northern Ireland are this year joining forces to double the size and impact of the Fund, making €200,000 in grants available.

Speaking about his own experiences as an advocate for the importance of local community projects and the role of the Coca-Cola Thank You Fund in empowering and equipping young people across the island of Ireland, Barry Keoghan said:

“I launched the 2020 Coca-Cola Thank You Fund just before the pandemic, and it really struck a chord with me; meeting the young people whose lives had been so positively impacted by the programmes delivered as a result of this great support.

“The Coca-Cola Thank You Fund is giving local groups in communities the ability to help vulnerable young people develop skills that will have a lasting impact on their future and their communities, but also on our environment, and that’s something that’s really important to me. I’m a proud example of the impact of local projects and hope that I can help other young people by encouraging community-based programmes to apply for funding.

In 2023, the Coca-Cola Thank You Fund will focus on one overall theme: Empowering Young People Through Learning, Inclusion and Sustainable Development - focused on empowering young people aged 16-25 by engaging in models of innovative and inclusive practice under the following three focus areas:

Empowering Learning

Help us understand how your work is empowering young people who may otherwise be at risk of early school leaving or low education attainment to access supportive interventions that will empower and equip them to successfully transition into skills-based opportunities, mentorship opportunities, further learning opportunities and employment opportunities.

Empowering Sustainable Development

Help us understand how your work is empowering young people to address the theme of sustainability in their lives. We are looking to support projects and programmes that are focused on education, action and awareness building around areas including, but not limited to, biodiversity, circularity of economy and packaging, sustainable diets and food waste.

Empowering Inclusion

Help us understand how your work is empowering young people to engage in models of innovative social practise and bringing people together. We want to support projects and programmes that are focused on breaking down barriers and building friendships.

The Fund’s strategy of investing in community groups that are orientated towards youths allows it to support targeted interventions for young people. This includes keeping them interested in activities or providing supports and networks that assist them in making the correct decisions as they move from teenagers to young adulthood.

How will the Coca-Cola Thank You Fund be allocated in 2023?
