Cyclist who died following road crash in Co Armagh is named

The cyclist who died after a road crash in Portadown has been named.

He was Waldemar Gorny (40) from the Gilford area.

He died following the crash on the Gilford Road area yesterday (Wednesday) evening.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "Shortly after 9:35pm, it was reported that a red Hyundai Tuscon and a cyclist were involved in the incident. Mr Gorny, who was treated at the scene sadly died as a result of his injuries.

The Gilford Road was closed as officers attended, with the road now reopened following the incident.

“Our enquiries are continuing and we would appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident or who has dash-cam footage available, to contact police on 101 quoting reference number 1927 11/11/20.”
