Thunderstorms cause flash flooding across NI

Heavy rain and thunderstorms have led to intense flooding and disruption in parts of Northern Ireland.

This comes after a month of warm weather and sunshine, with record-breaking temperatures hitting 31.4°C just last week in Amargh.

The Met Office issued a yellow weather warning for thunderstorms this afternoon across east of Northern Ireland.

A number of roads have already reported flooding, such as the Lisburn Road, Milltown Road, Hillhall Road and A55 Upper Knockbreda Road.

Drivers are advised to take care in Ballymena and Ballyclare after reports of further flooding.
