Homes evacuated in Derry alert
A number of homes have been evacuated in Londonderry due to a security alert.

The alert was sparked on Wednesday night in the Ederown Park area.
SDLP Cllr Brian Tierney said the alert was causing “upset and disruption”.
“The ongoing alert at Ederown Park is causing upset and disruption as families have been evacuated from their homes," he said.
“It’s an absolutely freezing night and I feel for these residents, many with small children, who had to leave their homes tonight.
"Those evacuated have been moved to a local community centre.
“The PSNI have assured me the are working to ensure the area is safe but they expect that the alert will last until the morning.
"The priority remains to ensure all residents in the area are safe."
