Newry business targeted in armed robbery

Police are appealing for information on an armed robbery in Newry.

It took place at around 8 o'clock this morning at commercial premises in the Patrick Street area of the city.

A man reportedly entered the shop and produced a knife before threatening a female member of staff.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “The man is described as being 5”4 in height and wearing a grey hooded top with a scarf covering his face.

“Enquiries are continuing and we would appeal to anyone with any information to contact police on 101, quoting reference number 223 03/01/23.
